More Watercolors

When I find myself working too much on the computer I have to sometimes step away and just paint. Watercolor is the medium I've chose to master and I'll be learning how to overcome this challenging media for the rest of my days. Some water colors come out great and others not so much, this piece was painted a few times before I felt comfortable with the painting. As I came to a finish I knew I had a painting to be proud of while learning new things and accepting the mistakes. Here's to never being perfect but working like you can achieve perfection!

Sometimes more than not lately, I love working up some fan art! It seems to be what the public want to see and want to commission and it's also fun for me to create. Link is the cutest game hero to date, am I right!?! Of course watercolor so happens to be my favorite way to painting and to create!

Thanks to my equally nerdy son we talk a lot about Nintendo (not as much as StarWars) and while Lightsaber fighting on one occasion I decided I would be Link and he would be Ganondorf.  This battle sparked a conversation about the GameCube, which I remembered I had. To make a long story short we started playing Zelda:WindWaker which awakened my interest in drawing Link again. It's great when your son shares the same joys with you and you can nerd out together...

I love making art with children, especially my students! Here's a piece I've created recently that is inspired by an art lesson I like to do with my students. It's a mixture of glue and watercolor. Since Autumn is approaching I like to get myself in the spirit of the season! Especially since we dont get much of the Fall weather in the sunshine state.
